John Pye is a keen amateur musician. He began learning the organ as a teenager, initially with Richard Archer and subsequently with Timothy Lees (Director of Music at St James the Greater, Leicester). He continued to play the organ whilst studying natural sciences at the University of Cambridge, and was appointed Assistant Organist at the church of Our Lady and the English Martyrs in the city.  John is now a secondary school executive principal, but still enjoys playing the piano and organ in his spare time.
